Who to call in St. Louis when Dad refuses help
None of these desks can make a capable man accept a caregiver. Each can do one specific thing well. Every number here was read on the linked official page on September 12, 2026; if a page did not print a number, neither do we.
The next public desk: aging agencies and resource lines

When the facts look unsafe
Missouri Adult Abuse and Neglect Hotline (DHSS)
Takes reports about eligible adults, which DHSS describes as people 60 and older, or 18 to 59 with disabilities, in abusive, neglectful or exploitative situations, including self-neglect. Hours listed by DHSS: 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., seven days a week. Reports can also be made online at moapss.health.mo.gov. Relay Missouri: 1-800-735-2966. The Attorney General's seniors page prints the same number with longer hours; we use the DHSS hours because DHSS runs the line.

Help inside the house
Missouri's health department separates home health, in-home services, and private-duty care. For private-duty care it says there is "No Physician order needed for aide giving personal care, respite or companion care" (DHSS). The one company named on this site, New Plan Care Solutions, is on the home page.
